Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Nothing to do.... Empty Nothing to do....

Mad was bored. REALLY bored.

It had been a slow morning, without much work to do. So he went to get his lunch and now he was back in his office with his head down on his calendar. He let out a sort of agitated snort and lifted his head up.

"Hey! Anybody call?" he asked his secretary.

"No."

So Mad got up and decided to walk through the auror cubicles. There was nothing more fun than looking at people NOT do their jobs. Cubicle by cubicle he went and he found Daily Prophet Articles, wanted posters, and even an empty bottle of whiskey on the floor.

"Repulsive!" he whispered to one of the aurors. They gave a sigh of annoyance and that was exactly what satisfied Mad. But one auror he came across didn't completely disgust Marcus.

"We need more aurors like you," He said simply.

“That is what I have been trying to tell you people since day one,” Nemo replied with a sly grin as he turned away from the rusted flask and the mug of coffee which had previously held his attention. “But your opinion is as good as gold.”

Despite the blatant manner in which his superior had addressed a being other than himself, Nemo had identified the challenge that he had been handed at once. A challenge which demanded he rise to the level of a man who held the daunting hand of authority over his head, and to swiftly sever said appendage from his wrist with as blunt a weapon as a chainsaw. It was an opportunity like no other, and yet, it consisted of nothing more than the simplicity of a well-timed sentence, “Saying something like that: That other aurors should act as I do…” He shuffled his feat with his head downturned, feigning timidity. “Well now, that sounds quite like a prescription for a change around here.”

“You heard him,” he addressed the men and women before him, who had begun to eye him cautiously, as though they were mentally preparing themselves for the antics that were sure to follow his words. “From this day forth, all beverages that are brought on the premises are to contain some form of alcoholic – vodka, preferably.” Nemo reclined his back until his bent arms were planted firmly against the edge of the cabinet behind him, visibly relaxing at the mention of liquor.

“Rid of the uniforms as well.” And it was with the utterance of those words that Nemo fell quarry to his own musings. “How is it that the Ministry expects aurors to scare the shit out of the bad guys if we are dressing in bathrobes? You’ve gotta look badass if you want to kick in some Death Eater teeth,” he rambled, only just resisting the urge to shake his right fist in the manner of a soulful public speaker.

For no other purpose than proving his point, Nemo extended an arm towards Dakota and gave him a firm clap on the back. “Drinks are on this guy. This heroic man right here,” he cooed, before casting a false expression of adoration in his direction. It was only a matter of time before a black eye accompanied Nemo on his route home, what with the way he behaved while in the company of the Ministry’s monarchy.

Marcus laughed as Nemo went on about the somewhat ridiculousness of the Ministry. "Uh. I'm underage.. But you guys can have fun off of it," Marcus joked. But he really was underage. Nemo was actually right about the uniforms, other than the fact that he never wore his.

"Actually yes. Rid of the uniforms. They piss me off.."

Marcus merely chucled when Nemo pinned the drink purchasing on Marcus. He wasn't the time to just by things for people, even if they are his super loyal cronies-- employees. He could also read the phony expression of admiration that Nemo had cast at him. Marcus rolled his eyes and laughed at Nemo's sarcasm.

Nemo was not unaware of Dakota's age. The knowledge that a nineteen-year-old man had seized the position of Head of Law Enforcement had not been easily forgotten. But Nemo was in no way bitter towards the man who presently stood before him, for he had no use for such titles. Nay, Nemo was quite simply intrigued by the way in which Dakota had waltzed into the Ministry and had scoured himself a slice of cake within such a brief span of time.

And once more, Nemo's expectations were reduced to dust when the man did not react with aggravation to his tomfoolery. What was it about the newly graduated that took so keenly to Nemo’s behavior? Nemo smirked, not once breaking eye contact with his subject as he attempt with all his might to pin to him a solid reading.

“F-ck the age restrictions. We aurors get a pass - proven fact,” was Nemo’s only voiced reply, though his amusement and that which he’d left unsaid could be seen with ease, dancing within his lively blues. It was intentional on Nemo’s part: that he'd revealed so much of his inner workings to Dakota, should he have looked upon Nemo at that moment. He enjoyed assumptions, and to watch Dakota reach his own would bring him great pleasure, for they often resulted in far more interesting circumstances.
