The cold of the world

Since he found out that he was engaged, Jayden Volkov had been unwilling to leave the Ravenclaw common room. He hadn't even been willing to go to classes, though he went to those because he knew that he had too. But other than that he had spent about a week just going from classes to the common room. Only two people knew exactly why he was doing it - because he wanted to avoid Juliet as much as possible - and those people were Abbey and Blake. Whenever someone else asked what was wrong with him, he just made up an excuse and retreated back to the common room.

Today, however, he decided that he'd had enough of hiding from everyone. One day out wouldn't hurt him and it would give him a chance to actually enjoy something. However he hadn't been counting on it being so cold, yet he dressed as warmly as he thought he would need to be. With his hands in the pockets of his jacket and his mouth being covered by the Ravenclaw scarf around his neck, Jayden set off onto the grounds, having nowhere in particular to go.
