Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Night out in Hogsmead Empty Night out in Hogsmead

Post by Alexander Jones Mon Feb 18, 2013 12:15 am

Alex looked at his watch. The young Hufflepuff Wizard sat on a bench, in the chilly night, with a yellow Hufflepuff hoodie, jeans, nikes, and a white T-Shirt. He had a scarf on, along with a beanie. His wand in his pocket, and phone. He looked at his watch, around nine PM. It was dark, but Hogsmeade looked beautiful, the street lights lighting it. People walking around. He had gone there waiting for his friend named Amelia. One of his better friends in the school, and they had a weird relationship. They had kissed, they had comforted each other. Alex had fallen in and out of like with her a couple times. And Alex's real reason for inviting her out, was not to have fun, it was to see what he actually felt for her, and spend time with her. He had heard that she had a boyfriend, but Alex didn't really care.

He sat back, with his eyes closed, ear phones popped in his head, listening to 'Freaks and Geeks' By Childish Gambino. The breeze going past his face, waiting for his friend Amelia. She was a couple of minutes, or fifteen, late. But he didn't care, he was patient. He opened his eyes every couple of seconds so he never found a person standing over him.

Night out in Hogsmead Empty Re: Night out in Hogsmead

Amelia couldn’t believe how late she was running. She held her yellow and black cap down to make sure it didn’t fly off. It had belonged to her mother at her age so she was a bit protective of it. She had a thing about things that had belonged to family. She was wearing a yellow overcoat and black and yellow scarf. She also had a teal t-shirt, black skinny jeans and UGG boots. She had even put in gold hopped earnings and charm bracelet her dad got for her and gave her a charm for every birthday. She didn’t wear any makeup besides lip gloss.

She saw Alex sitting on a bench. She ran over towards him. “Alex,” she said hoping he would hear her over his headphones. She smiled at him.

Alex closed his eyes, feeling the coldness of the air. By that time, he had changed the song to a Kendrick Llamar song. It was a old son, from back in 2013, he had listened to it with his dad in the car many of times.
'Paranoia making it more than difficult for me to sleep
Pinnacle, I know I be, centerfold, I know I got
But they hate to frame me as the Mona Lisa of Hip-Hop
So retaliation is a must, when we bend the block'

That verse had been interrupted by someone calling his name. He popped his headphones out, and looked at Amelia. Dressed looking nice as always. Alex sighed, he felt like he was baldy dressed.
Calm down, this isn't a date, this is just two friends hanging out. Alex thought. He got up, and turned of the music, letting the head phones hang over his shirt, looking at Amelia.

He looked out at the beautiful dark night. He put his arm out for Amelia. "Shall we, M'Lady?" Alex asked teasingly.

Amelia wondered what Alex had been listening to but didn’t ask. She had recently got interested in music after she found she was good at it. She kept trying to learn more about it but she’s only just starting to learn about it.

Amelia took Alex’s arm with a smile. She would have rolled her eyes at Alex a few months ago but she had learned to take life a little bit sarcastic. It turned off a lot of guys. But this was Alex, her friend. She couldn’t help laughing. She had one of those laughs that it’s hard not to smile when you hear.

Alex looked at Amelia smiling. Damn, she was REALLY pretty. But no, Alex had to control himself, he couldn't just kiss her. He remembered how awkward it had made the two, when he had last kissed her. If it wasn't for detention, where he had met Andrei and the others, he and Amelia would probably still be avoiding each other. And Alex didn't really want that. And with a smile, he walked her towards the three broomsticks. Maybe he should've chosen some place more romantic, but no, if he had chosen a fancy restaurant, it would've looked like date. But if he had chosen a crappy place, it would make her think that he didn't care about her, which was the farthest thing from the truth.

Three Broomsticks was good, it was a great hang out for Hogwarts students, it served good food. And there was no crappy staff. He walked in with her, and led her towards a table, and he sat down across from her. Alex slowly pulled his shirt up, to scratch his stomach, but in all honesty, Alex had a habit of revealing his abs to people, because he was somewhat of a show off. He quickly pulled the shirt down, and looked back at her. "So, how's it going?" Alex said, wondering if Amelia had any intentions of telling Alex she was involved with someone, or if it was just a rumor.

Night out in Hogsmead Empty Re: Night out in Hogsmead

Amelia hadn’t realized how much different the guys in each House were. Well, maybe it didn’t help she typically attracted the people like her father. She has learned from her mum how to handle a pompous arse. She got rid of Chad that way. She knew to a lot of people she came off as a prude or snobbish but she knew she was nothing compared to most of the girls in her year and her sisters.

She wondered why she was here. Alex was cool and all but people might get the wrong idea. She really did like Lance and didn’t want to ruin it. Her mum was right when she told her that people were starting to care who was dating who and getting the wrong reputation now could affect the world after Hogwarts.

“Well I’ve gone on a few dates with Lance Corner, my mother was nearly killed and I don’t like all these changes at Hogwarts,” said Amelia. She didn’t like all the changes with Professors. If she wanted the Ministry corrupt ways to affect her education she would have learned her classes from Ministry workers. She was nearly on board with her mum with the idea of leaving Hogwarts for a year. “My mum is talking about leaving the country. If things don’t change I’m not sure I’ll be coming back next year. She wants to send me and my siblings to a different magical school if things don’t change soon. She thinks the United Kingdom is dangerous,” she added.

Night out in Hogsmead Empty Re: Night out in Hogsmead

Alex's heart was pumping when she had mentioned she was dating someone. But it had stopped, which surprised him. Was it because he was okay with it? Well then, finally, he had his answer. Now he could have fun with a friend. He popped his knuckles, looking at Amelia while she talked. His eyes widened, "What? What happened? Who tried to kill her?" Alex asked looking serious. When Alex didn't have confusing feelings about Amelia, he realized, she was one of his closest friends. He looked at her. "You need me to get involved?" Alex asked. Alex probably seemed harmless, but anyone who knew him well, knew what he was capable of. That he knew loads of martial arts and weapon play, as a result from living around the world and learning things. And only a few people knew that, and one of the people who knew what he was capable of, was Amelia.

"Well, I hope you don't leave. But my parents have also though the same thing. My mom is thinking of sending me to the Spanish Wizarding school, or the American one. And since I speak Russian, they've even thrown the name Durmstrang around." Alex said. "With what's going on with the ministry...." He then looked back for a waiter, then turned towards Amelia. "Listen, if anything like that happens, tell me."

Night out in Hogsmead Empty Re: Night out in Hogsmead

“We don’t know who did it. She didn’t see their face. She was in a muggle area when she was attacked, she didn’t have her wand on her so she didn’t even have a chance to defend herself. My dad thinks someone had been fallowing her from some time and had to know she didn’t have her wand. I don’t think anyone would take on my mother without her wand,” said Amelia.

“My parents are talking about American National Magic Academy and The New South Wales Academy of Magic has been thrown around. My mum doesn’t like Durmstrang or Beauxbatons. know that parents are going to have us at least live outside of England, I believe my family will stay active in England just not live here unless someone comes up a safe way for my family to stay that is,” said Amelia. “I’ve heard from my Uncle Neville that they’re a few people that want to overthrow the Ministry. He didn’t tell me much but he believes it could happen. My dad hasn’t voiced his opinion but I expect he will shortly. All I know is that is going to be a war against the Ministry,” whispered Amelia keeping her voice low enough so the waiter didn’t hear but loud enough that Alex could hear.
