Magical Abilities

Learned Abilities -- these abilities can be learnt at any time and do not require any specific blood traits or anything to be learnt.

• Nonverbal magic – Ability to use magic without speaking the incantation. (3rd years and up)
  
• Apparation – Ability to disappear and reappear at another place in a matter of seconds. (6th years and up)
  
• Animagus – The ability to transform into an animal that matches your personality. State your animal when applying! (Third years and up)
  
• Leglimens – Ability to read people’s minds. (7th years and up)
• Occlumens – Opposite of Leglimency, the ability to keep people out of your mind. (5th years and up)
  
• Wandless magic – An extremely advanced ability that very few wizards can do. It allows you to do magic without your wand, though it’s not as powerful. (Graduates only)
• Flying – Flying in this case means flying without a broomstick or any aid (Everyone)

Special Abilities -- These abilities are based on your blood and ancestry.

• Seer – The ability to see into the future. (Everyone)
• Parseltongue – Ability to speak to snakes. (Slytherins or ex-Slytherins)
• Metamorphmagus – Ability to change appearance at will (Everyone)
• Telekenesis - The ability to move objects without touching them. Note this is only used for smaller objects, no moving buildings! (Everyone)
  Speaking with animals - some wizards have the ability to communicate with animals on a level most humans can't. (cant communicate with snakes though =D, everyone)

How your character got this ability:
Non-verbal magic: Della studied hard in her third year, and achieved the ability to do magic non-verbally.
Apparation: Della studied in her sixth year, and eventually was able to do the ability successfully.
Parseltongue: Della is a Slytherin, and found in her fourth year she is able to talk to snakes. Della has had a fear of snakes her whole life, but this ablility has made her a little less fearful of them.

(Della should be sorted soon, so I'm crossing my fingers for Slytherin!)

How your character got this ability:
Apparition: Just like everybody else in her year, Alexandra studied with the hoop until she finally got it. And then she practiced apparating from one side of the street to the other, and so on and so forth...
Legilimens/Occlumens: Let's just say her Dad is skilled at reading peoples minds. He taught her how to use Legilimens to read other peoples thoughts, and to block her mind from people reading her thoughts
Flying: Alexandra loved to fly from the start. The moment she got on a broom she was whizzing all over the place. It was one of the only things that could make her smile. But when she was attached by a werewolf while picking flowers with her twin, she did not have her broom handy. After she healed, she spent time with her dad training to fly on her own so that she would not have any more accidents.

Umm Della you can't have parseltongue since anless i am blind you are no Slytherin,but other 2 are accepted.

Alexandra first 2 are accepted,but for flying you'll have to write me an essay.

Name: Robert Andrew Dent
Ability Desired: Leglimens & Occlumens, Apparation, Telekinisis.
How your character got this ability:

Leglimens/Occlumens: Robert was taught Leglimens by his cousin Andrea Whitlock around his sixteenth birthday. They'd take turns invading their great-grandmother's mind and make her think she needed to cook. This ended up with them getting a lot of cake. Occlumens was the one he battled with when he was learning it. After his mother found out what he had done to his great-grandmother she invaded his mind at different moments trying to fine out if he did play around with his great-grandmother's mind. Because of the rough probing of his mind, Robert learned to block his mother out.

Apparation: Just like every good witch or wizard, Robert took his Apparation test and passed with flying colours; eventually. But unlike every good witch or wizard with a brain, Robert didn't study and ended up Apparating to China where he spent a few hours with an old Chinese woman - she was making him food. He returned with a bowl of noodles and the examiner chucked him out with a licence.

Telekinisis: The Whitlock Family are 'gifted' every four generations or so. It sometimes can be more or it can be less. When Robert was growing up plates of brownies would disappear or a teddy bear would be seen floating in mid air through the hallways of the house. His mother had passed it off as accidental underage-magic that was common for witches and wizards before their eleventh birthday.

Robert, however, had inherited a trait from a distant relative that lived in the 1500's. His name was Arthur Whitlock - he was one of the only men born into the Whitlock family. The Whitlock Family was full of women even then and to have a boy born was either a blessing in disguise or rotten luck. Arthur was gifted with Telekinisis.

Along the family tree a few more boys were born few and far apart in their ages. Each had their own little distinctive trait no matter what or who the father was. It was rumoured around the 1700's that Whitlock blood was thicker than anything else. For a while the family was under prey of vampires and the family went of the radar - literally. They disappeared and Annabel Whitlock had the Plymouth Mansion built for the family to hide in.

While the family was hiding one more boy was born and he was gifted with being able to see into the future. He proclaimed that only one more boy would be born and unlike the rest of the men in the family that used their powers and then died, he would find love.

In 1998, Robert Andrew Whitlock was born. His middle name was used because of his ancestor that made the proclamation - Andrew Howard Whitlock. Robert was born with the Telekinisis that Arthur Whitlock possessed before him. His powers were used from the start and during his adolescent years they all but disappeared. When he hit his ninteenth birthday, however, the first thing he did was make a tightly wrapped gift fly into his hands.
