Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

WAND: Willow, demiguise and unicorn hair, 10", whippy.

Willow - A practical, resourceful wood. Associates with the earth element. Energy is more feminine, considered to be yin. Its magical strengths are in healing spells, charms, and defensive magic. Bonds best with unicorn hair and more subtle, light cores.

Demiguise hair - Attaches to wizards who can claim to be shy, level-headed, down to earth, dependable, quiet, humble, good-natured, and relatively detached. These wizards often avoid the spotlight preferring solitude when they can find it. Despite these traits, this sort of wizard can be ruthless in defending what is important to them and relentless in achieving their goals. Demiguise hairs typically have a particular strength in Transfiguration and the subtler magical arts.

Unicorn hair - Attaches to wizards who can claim to be sweet, gentle, dependable, laid back, humble, loyal, caring, independent, and possessing strong values of family and friendship. Unicorn hair is a love-centric core that instills the confidence and encouragement that the users tend to try to give to others. Unicorn hairs find their strength in healing spells as well as elemental magic. It's best subjects tend to be Charms and Transfiguration.

10 inches - This measurement is rather short in relation to Teddy's height. The shortness comes from his own 'small' personality, in that he is not one to make grand gestures or put much attention on himself. Hence, a subtle length for a subtle man.

Whippy - A fairly flexible wand denotes a wizard willing to be flexible. It does reveal a small lack of willpower, as Teddy has a difficult defending his own right to his own time. A whippy wand is not difficult to master, but is difficult to get strong magic out of.

APPEARANCE
------------------------------------------------------------

HAIR COLOUR: Brown, fluffy.

EYE COLOUR: Brown.

COMPARATIVE HEIGHT: Five foot eleven inches. Not exactly tall. Not exactly short.

BODY BUILD: Slim, Fit.

GENERAL APPEARANCE: As a metamorphogus, Teddy had complete control over his appearance, though it does not often look like it. His natural look is that of a man nearing thirty, slightly aged by worry. In his early twenties, he was fit from his naturally active lifestyle, but he has gotten slightly more doughy as he has aged. He had droopy, brown eyes very reminiscent of his father. He had his mother sharp nose. His jaw is very square and is often covered in a scraggly five-o’clock-shadow/beard. Hus hair is long, curly, and floppy. On occasion he wrangles it into a shorter cut, but he is very careless in his appearance and often walks out of the house in whichever state he finds himself in.

HABITS & QUIRKS:
“Actually, no I was going to… Um, sure. I mean, yes, I can be of assistance. Oh that? Pfaw, not important.”
Handles conflict well externally, but panics internally.
Most of his strengths are externally strong, whilst the internal feels week.

BOGGART: To fail his family or become so weak that he cannot be of use to anyone. His boggart appears as one of his family members crawling towards him.

PATRONUS: Teddy cannot forget that one time he kissed Bernice. They had both been drinking and it was not super romantic or anything. It had been for fun, as a joke… But there was this lingering moment afterwards that he has never forgotten. They have never talked about it.

DEMENTOR: Harry’s death. Ginny’s death. Finding out that Lily had been bitten by a werewolf. Finding out about Lily’s current state.

MIRROR OF ERISED: He would see himself in front of a nice home, hand in hand with Bernice, his siblings and family preparing for a reunion in the background.

MOTTO(s):
“A handshake solves everything.”
“No one is truly lost.”
“We all seek some form of companionship.”

TEMPERAMENT: Your temperament is phlegmatic.

The phlegmatic temperament is fundamentally relaxed and quiet, ranging from warmly attentive to lazily sluggish. Phlegmatics tend to be content with themselves and are kind. They are accepting and affectionate. They may be receptive and shy and often prefer stability to uncertainty and change. They are consistent, relaxed, calm, rational, curious, and observant, qualities that make them good administrators. They can also be passive-aggressive.

SOUL TYPE: Primarily the Caregiver. Followed closely by the Helper. Thirdly, tied as the Leader and the Spiritualist.

Caregiver - The quintessential characteristic of a Caregiver type is the desire to take care of others. For this reason, Caregivers may be drawn to the long-term care of children or the elderly. Though some Caregivers find their need to nurture satisfied by raising a family, many others seek out work in such venues as schools, hospitals, and animal shelters. If you recognize yourself as a Caregiver, you may already have noticed the tendency to put others’ needs ahead of your own. This trait makes it essential that you go out of your way to take care of yourself as well as those around you. You are loyal to the extreme, and you guard those who are entrusted to your care with your life. Fighting another person’s battles can be important if that individual is unable to stand up for themselves, though you should be cautious not to disempower those in your care by not allowing them to do things for themselves. Your empathy allows you to understand nonverbal emotional signals. This ability will tell you when someone needs your help, and how best to assist them. It is common for Caregiver types to intuitively know what someone needs at any given time.

The Helper - You can find Helper types at the scene of an accident, behind the counter in a shop, or doing laborious work—such as garbage collection—jobs that others feel are beneath them. Helper types have plenty of common sense, and a pragmatic approach to problems that ensures things get done. With their no-nonsense, roll-your-sleeves-up-and-get-the-job-done approach to life, Helpers keep the modern world rolling. Without them, our cities would grind to a halt, and the infrastructure of our societies would crumble. As a Helper, you are unlikely to seek out a leadership role, since you’re probably happiest diligently working behind the scenes. Many Helpers will spend long years in the same job, proud to have never missed a day of work. On the downside, your soul’s desire to be of service can get you into trouble since it can be hard to say no, and you may become overwhelmed by all the tasks you take on. When it comes to expressing emotions, you rarely allow yourself to get too carried away. Being stable and grounded means keeping a strong attachment to the Physical Plane and not being distracted by flights of fancy. Your purpose is not to change the world, but to keep it turning smoothly.

The Leader – You bring to this life an innate wisdom, which is why people will look to you for advice. You may sometimes make decisions on your own without thinking to involve others, and once you’ve made up your mind, you may be reluctant to change it. This may work in an emergency, but in other circumstances it can give the impression that you are arrogant or condescending.

The Spiritualist – Many Spiritualists are highly intuitive, which is why you may have had psychic experiences in the past and why you will tend to use your sixth sense when it comes to decisionmaking. You have a great deal of compassion, and may feel a strong need to create a better world, or to help people make the best of their lives. Charities and nonprofits are places where you and other Spiritualists can express your soul’s desire to help others.

ENNEAGRAM TYPE: The Helper and Peacemaker, closely followed by the Loyalist

The Peacemaker – Peacemakers are accepting, trusting, and stable. They are usually creative, optimistic, and supportive, but can also be too willing to go along with others to keep the peace. They want everything to go smoothly and be without conflict, but they can also tend to be complacent, simplifying problems and minimizing anything upsetting. They typically have problems with inertia and stubbornness. At their Best: indomitable and all-embracing, they are able to bring people together and heal conflicts.
Basic Fear: Of loss and separation
Basic Desire: To have inner stability "peace of mind"
"The Referee" "The Dreamer"
Key Motivations: Want to create harmony in their environment, to avoid conflicts and tension, to preserve things as they are, to resist whatever would upset or disturb them.

The Helper – Helpers are empathetic, sincere, and warm-hearted. They are friendly, generous, and self-sacrificing, but can also be sentimental, flattering, and people-pleasing. They are well-meaning and driven to be close to others, but can slip into doing things for others in order to be needed. They typically have problems with possessiveness and with acknowledging their own needs. At their Best: unselfish and altruistic, they have unconditional love for others.
Basic Fear: Of being unwanted, unworthy of being loved
Basic Desire: To feel loved
"Servant" "The Host "
Key Motivations: Want to be loved, to express their feelings for others, to be needed and appreciated, to get others to respond to them, to vindicate their claims about themselves.

The Loyalist – The committed, security-oriented type. Sixes are reliable, hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy. Excellent "troubleshooters," they foresee problems and foster cooperation, but can also become defensive, evasive, and anxious—running on stress while complaining about it. They can be cautious and indecisive, but also reactive, defiant and rebellious. They typically have problems with self-doubt and suspicion. At their Best: internally stable and self-reliant, courageously championing themselves and others.
Basic Fear: Of being without support and guidance
Basic Desire: To have security and support
"The Defender" "The Buddy"
Key Motivations: Want to have security, to feel supported by others, to have certitude and reassurance, to test the attitudes of others toward them, to fight against anxiety and insecurity.

PERSONALITY: INFJ

Introvert(89%)  iNtuitive(50%)  Feeling(1%)  Judging(67%)

You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion
Though Teddy finds himself in the middle of a wide circle of friends, family, and acquaintances, Teddy feels most at ease on his own. Because he has always been in the center of things, he finds himself naturally flung into leadership or administrative roles, though he does not think he has the charm nor charisma to handle either. He is usually put in such roles because he is humble, fair, and discerning, as well as very diplomatic. Teddy is a classic example of an Introvert who has been given the life of an Extrovert by some horrific misunderstanding. Though he can deal with large crowds and many people, he needs a lot of recovery time, and he feels very uncertain of himself, despite the positive results that are usually garnered.

You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing
Teddy likes to think himself a fully grounded person who decides based on facts alone, never letting judgments pervade him. He is very much a Nick Carraway in that he attempts to reserve all judgments, but in doing so for so long has led him to be very discerning about human behavior. He has a sense of intuition that his godsister Lily teases him for, often calling it his Motherly Intuition or his Maternal Senses. He can get a good read off of people fairly early, though he tries to remain fair and unbiased. He is often struggling between what he feels about someone, and what he knows.

You have marginal or no preference of Feeling over Thinking
Teddy struggles to keep his feelings at bay. Though he is predisposed to be more of an intellectual, he has developed an emotional side to help his family and friends. His main aim is to maximize how useful he can be to people, and he believes that being logical and unbiased would probably be most useful. However, as most people typically end up needing more emotional support than anything, he finds himself suspending his logical approach for a softer, more sensitive one. He struggles to decide which will be more helpful with people.

You have distinct preference of Judging over Perceiving
Teddy does not think he judges unfairly. He does what he can to take things for their face value but, being a self-appointed head of the Potter family, he has found that he has to rely on his inner radar to ensure his family is safe. He does what he can to not use these judgments against those he meets, instead storing them in case what he sees from their actions confirm his feelings. He also had an uncanny knack for picking up the good or bad in a person.

INFJs as Lovers
INFJs are warm, considerate partners who feel great depth of love for their partners. They enjoy showing this love, and want to receive affirmation back from their mates. They are perfectionists, constantly striving to achieve the Perfect Relationship. This can sometimes be frustrating to their mates, who may feel put upon by the INFJs demanding perfectionism. However, it may also be greatly appreciated, because it indicates a sincere commitment to the relationship, and a depth of caring which is not usually present in other types. Sexually, INFJs view intimacy as a nearly spiritual experience. They embrace the opportunity to bond heart and soul with their mates. As service-oriented individuals, it's very important to them that their mates are happy. Intimacy is an opportunity for the INFJ to selflessly give their love, and experience it in a tangible way. Although two well-developed individuals of any type can enjoy a healthy relationship, INFJ's natural partner is the ENTP, or the ENFP.

INFJs as Parents
INFJs usually make warm and caring parents. Their goal is to help their children become adults who know the difference between right and wrong, and who are independent, growth-oriented individuals. Along the path to that goal they are generally very warm and caring, and are likely to treat their children as individuals who have a voice in family decisions. They want their children to be able to think for themselves, and make the right decisions. They also can be quite demanding on their children, and may have very high expectations for their behavior. Although they are generally soft-spoken and gentle, they may become stubborn and sharp-tongued at times when their expectations aren't met, or when under a lot of stress. INFJs take their parenting role with ultimate seriousness. They will make sacrifices for the sake of their children without a second thought, and without remorse. Passing on their values to their children is a serious priority in their lives. Children of INFJs remember their parents fondly as warm, patient, and inspirational.

INFJs as Friends
Although the INFJ is likely to put friends behind their God and their families in terms of importance, they do value their friendships. As idealists who have strong value systems, INFJs seek authenticity and depth in their close relationships, and especially value people who can see and appreciate the INFJ for who they are and what they stand for. The INFJ is likely to spend a lot of time socialing with family members. If they are religious, they probably are social with members of their religious community. After that, the INFJ may have friends represented from any of the personality types. They are usually extremely intuitive individuals, who will have no patience for anyone they feel is dishonest or corrupt. They'll have no interest in being around these kinds of people. All kinds of people are drawn towards the INFJ. They are usually quite popular, although they may be unaware of it themselves, because they don't place a lot of importance on it. The INFJ is valued by their close friends for their warmth and consideration, their new and interesting ways of looking at things, and for their ability to inspire and motivate others to be the best that they can be.

INFJs as the Protector

Dominant: Introverted Intuition
Auxiliary: Extraverted Feeling
Tertiary: Introverted Thinking
Inferior: Extraverted Sensing

As an INFJ, your primary mode of living is focused internally, where you take things in primarily via intuition. Your secondary mode is external, where you deal with things according to how you feel about them, or how they fit with your personal value system.

INFJs are gentle, caring, complex and highly intuitive individuals. Artistic and creative, they live in a world of hidden meanings and possibilities. Only one percent of the population has an INFJ Personality Type, making it the most rare of all the types.

INFJs place great importance on having things orderly and systematic in their outer world. They put a lot of energy into identifying the best system for getting things done, and constantly define and re-define the priorities in their lives. On the other hand, INFJs operate within themselves on an intuitive basis which is entirely spontaneous. They know things intuitively, without being able to pinpoint why, and without detailed knowledge of the subject at hand. They are usually right, and they usually know it. Consequently, INFJs put a tremendous amount of faith into their instincts and intuitions. This is something of a conflict between the inner and outer worlds, and may result in the INFJ not being as organized as other Judging types tend to be. Or we may see some signs of disarray in an otherwise orderly tendency, such as a consistently messy desk.

INFJs have uncanny insight into people and situations. They get "feelings" about things and intuitively understand them. As an extreme example, some INFJs report experiences of a psychic nature, such as getting strong feelings about there being a problem with a loved one, and discovering later that they were in a car accident. This is the sort of thing that other types may scorn and scoff at, and the INFJ themself does not really understand their intuition at a level which can be verbalized. Consequently, most INFJs are protective of their inner selves, sharing only what they choose to share when they choose to share it. They are deep, complex individuals, who are quite private and typically difficult to understand. INFJs hold back part of themselves, and can be secretive.

But the INFJ is as genuinely warm as they are complex. INFJs hold a special place in the heart of people who they are close to, who are able to see their special gifts and depth of caring. INFJs are concerned for people's feelings, and try to be gentle to avoid hurting anyone. They are very sensitive to conflict, and cannot tolerate it very well. Situations which are charged with conflict may drive the normally peaceful INFJ into a state of agitation or charged anger. They may tend to internalize conflict into their bodies, and experience health problems when under a lot of stress.

Because the INFJ has such strong intuitive capabilities, they trust their own instincts above all else. This may result in an INFJ stubbornness and tendency to ignore other people's opinions. They believe that they're right. On the other hand, INFJ is a perfectionist who doubts that they are living up to their full potential. INFJs are rarely at complete peace with themselves - there's always something else they should be doing to improve themselves and the world around them. They believe in constant growth, and don't often take time to revel in their accomplishments. They have strong value systems, and need to live their lives in accordance with what they feel is right. In deference to the Feeling aspect of their personalities, INFJs are in some ways gentle and easy going. Conversely, they have very high expectations of themselves, and frequently of their families. They don't believe in compromising their ideals.

INFJ is a natural nurturer; patient, devoted and protective. They make loving parents and usually have strong bonds with their offspring. They have high expectations of their children, and push them to be the best that they can be. This can sometimes manifest itself in the INFJ being hard-nosed and stubborn. But generally, children of an INFJ get devoted and sincere parental guidance, combined with deep caring.

In the workplace, the INFJ usually shows up in areas where they can be creative and somewhat independent. They have a natural affinity for art, and many excel in the sciences, where they make use of their intuition. INFJs can also be found in service-oriented professions. They are not good at dealing with minutia or very detailed tasks. The INFJ will either avoid such things, or else go to the other extreme and become enveloped in the details to the extent that they can no longer see the big picture. An INFJ who has gone the route of becoming meticulous about details may be highly critical of other individuals who are not.

The INFJ individual is gifted in ways that other types are not. Life is not necessarily easy for the INFJ, but they are capable of great depth of feeling and personal achievement.

MOTHER: Nymphadora Druella Tonks, deceased.

SIBLING/S: n/a

James Sirius Potter, goofball.
Albus Severus Potter, angstball.

FAMILY TREES:
Spoiler:

CLOSE FRIENDS:
Sawyer Weasley – Sawyer, three years younger than Teddy, was one of Teddy’s closest friends growing up. Both boys were considered very serious and responsible, so unlike most of the other Weasley clan. Sawyer and Teddy are still friends, often going together for meals and drinks, and they even moved in together before Ginny died. Sawyer has a more unforgiving moral system that he and Teddy often find themselves in disagreements. After a stint as the Head of Control and Regulations of Magical Creatures, Sawyer has returned to his position as a freelancing dragon keeper and curse breaker. His most common employers are the magical governments.

Bernice Matthews – Bernice became Teddy’s friend in his first year in the Ministry. Bernice, the same age as Teddy, had been homeschooled by liberal intellectuals of parents. She came into the Ministry with the sole purpose of becoming a defense attorney. It took her years, as she was often distracted by other causes that came up, but she is now securing the position in the muggle world. In the magical, however, she is still a lawyer working her way up through the ranks. Bernice is a passionate, kind human being and she and Teddy have often considered dating, though they always seem to get the timing wrong.

Audrey Monet – Audrey is Sawyer’s girlfriend. Audrey works in Ministry as a seatholder in the International Confederation of Wizards, where she acts as a diplomat. Audrey is a tightly wound woman who believes in structure, order, and justice. She is not the sort of woman that people like very easily and Teddy finds himself disliking and fearing her for a large amount of the time. She seems to have a complaint for everything but does have a wonderful sense of taste.

Valerie Young – Valerie is training to be a dancer, but pays for herself by dancing at Satan’s. Bernice met Valerie at the bar and the two have struck an on and off relationship. Valerie is fun loving, free minded, and compassionate. Out of a strange jealousy, Teddy took a long time to warm up to her, and really only sees her when she’s on Bernice’s arm. That said, he reluctantly likes the girl if she wasn’t so often the reason he and Bernice cannot get together.

CHARACTER HISTORY
------------------------------------------------------------

Early Years: Teddy was the orphan of the second wizarding war, being raised by the most infamous orphan of all wizarding history. He was born into tragedy but given the chance for happiness. His grandparents wanted to raise him, but one look into the baby’s face and Harry was in love. Harry was eager to do anything to ease in the losses from the war, and it seemed like he only way to honor the fallen Lupin couple. Teddy’s grandparents became a constant haunt of the Potter household until James was born, teaching Harry and Ginny both how to parent. With the help of everyone from Molly Weasley to Hermione Granger to the Tonks’ and the Lupins’, Teddy had a very healthy start.

Teddy went to a boy’s prep school of his grandparents choosing. Teddy did well and was often the teacher’s favorite pupil, as the boy was charming in his shy cleverness. He switched schools the year James entered school, intent on being with his godbrother. Here, he did not do as well as there were more students and the teacher’s had less time to get to know each student. Teddy became a face in the crowd, unlike his more popular godbrother. He became more reserved as his friends began asking questions of comparison between himself and James.

As he grew up, the family he was surrounded with was not shy with him. He was often sat down to hear long-winded stories of his parents or their friends and the lives they led. Through this, Teddy not only learned the value of personal knowledge, but of patience and compassion. He often heard the same tales over and over again, but he never interrupted or corrected. And though it was he that suffered a parentless future, these stories often ended in the tears and emotions of the teller, and he found himself having to console the very people who lamented his own loss.

Growing up, Teddy was told he was very responsible and mature with the same affection in which James was told he was funny and athletic, and that Albus was told he was clever and proper. Because of this, he clung to this image. He found his closest friend in the family was Sawyer Weasley, who was close in age and too would grow to feel responsible for the younger generation of Potter/Weasley/Blacks. Teddy was very neat and safe as he grew up, only getting into foolish tangles when his family could convince him to do so – and they quickly learned how to work Teddy to their needs.

Hogwarts Years: The Sorting Hat deliberated so long upon Teddy’s head that he was certain it was going to decide he had better be homeschooled. When it finally announced that he was a Hufflepuff, however, it did so with confidence, claiming that it was the only choice for him. Hufflepuff cheered him on, excited to have a famous name within the folds, for they had been certain that anyone raised by the Potters was going to end up in Gryffindor. Teddy started classes, excited and eager for the learning at hand. He plunged immediately into work like the good pupil he was.

He made a few friends, but he was prevented from engaging in an active social life because of his own natural tendencies towards seclusion and his inability to engage in the conversations most wanted to discuss with him. It seemed everyone though him to be a historian on the second wizarding war. He was grilled about the Order of the Phoenix, the infamous ‘Maruaders’, and what Harry Potter was like in person. Teddy did not know how to respond, so he typically made an excuse that he needed to study and, not wanting to be a liar, would take up studying.

That November of his first year was the year that Lily Luna Potter was born. When Teddy returned home for Christmas, he fell in love with the baby and became her best friend and protector from then on out.

It was in his second year that the great Harry Potter fell. As everyone lamented the loss of a hero, Teddy gathered with family to mourn the loss of his key father figure. He remembered being restrained by his grandmother at the funeral, being told that it was best if immediate family sat up front. It was not until Ginny noticed he was not there and demanded he join them that he did, but he always remembered from then on out – he was not a Potter. It hurt but it was noted, and he never presumed again that he could claim to be a son to Harry or Ginny Potter.

He threw himself into his studies so he could further avoid conversation with those who wanted to sympathize with him. In his fourth year, he again had to contend with the popularity of James Potter, but it seemed to matter less. The sorts of people who would hang out with him were not the sort to be at all impressed by the cocky Potter boy. Teddy, of course, was there whenever James needed him, which was usually when he was being tricked into joining him in some trouble. He remained closest with Sawyer Weasley and Lily, who was growing up quickly. Teddy graduated with his virtues intact and his high grades, perfectly content.

Adulthood: Teddy decided to continue living with Ginny for a few years after he graduated. He began work in the Ministry of Magic as an intern in the Auror office. He soon found that the people were not quite his sort, though he learned lots of practical skills from them. He interned in the muggle relations office for a few months, before a friend suggested he look into social work. He secured himself the job and continued to support Ginny the best he could, taking turns with her to ensure that the trio of Potters were well taken care of. When he finally moved out, he moved in with Sawyer into a small apartment.

It took only ten months. They were in an apartment together for ten months when tragedy struck again. Ginny joined her husband in death and Teddy moved back in to hold down the home of Godric’s Hollow for his godsiblings. Before Lily decided to leave Hogwarts, both Potter boys had moved out. Teddy kept the home until Lily decided to go to America for schooling. Teddy handed the keys off to Albus, as James was gone, in the hopes that Albus would take his dad’s home.

Teddy has been trucking on. He’s in the Order, but he has lost a lot of hope in it. He works hard at his job and takes care of his family. He visits Albus’ home nearly every day now to take care of Lily, who is rehabilitating from a particularly nasty transformation and drug binge. Teddy’s main goal is to ensure that his family is safe.

I'd loooove that, and I'd love if we had a past thread of that exchange. Teddy would be annoyingly mature about it. When he was younger, he would have been cute and emotional about it.

ooooh. I hadn't thought about that. but perhaps teddy could have spent some of his summer time at Robert's farm with them. Khaat and Brian would have wanted to take Teddy camping out in the woods where Remus used to take them, etc. awesome idea!

yay! I like him. I do really like that he is a bit of an opposite of what the traditional Lupin bloodline might have him be. This should be fun.

accepted and sorted to grads!
