GENERAL APPEARANCE: Jimmy would best be described as lanky, thin yet with a wiry physique. His height is greatly emphasised by his legs being very long when in proportion with the rest of his body. He has flowing, chestnut coloured hair that runs down to his shoulders. His eyes are a mixture of grey and a light blue, creating an almost steel like appearance. The rest of his face is somewhat angular, with a pointed nose and thin arched eyebrows.

Is extremely loyal to those that treat him with kindness.
Has a propensity for fairly long distance running, coupled with an agility that slightly belies his height.
When properly motivated, he can be very hard working.
Jimmy treats everyone with kindness and respect, unless their actions prove them to be unworthy of it.
CHARACTER WEAKNESSES:
Has a tendency to be stubborn, especially when being told something about his friends that he doesn’t like.
It takes an effort for him to become motivated at times.
When provoked (which is a feat in itself), Jimmy can very easily lose all control and inflict more damage than what would be considered necessary.
He has a hard time seeing past previous misdemeanours that people have inflicted on either him or his friends.
His kind-heartedness borders on naivety.

PERSONALITY: Jimmy is an introverted and driven individual, he doesn’t keep many friends but those that he has he treats with kindness and loyalty. Jimmy prefers to keep himself at arms length from most people, his experiences at childhood have forged a deep mistrust of the vast majority of humanity.
In contrast to his working class roots (some would say in spite of), Jimmy has developed a taste for a more sophisticated way of living. He is fond of reading alone in his room and has also developed a decent level of skill with a guitar. This way of living has somewhat dampened the willingness to get his hands dirty that was instilled in him during his childhood.
He can be described as headstrong and is fully aware of the extent of his abilities, though this quiet confidence in himself can be easily misconstrued as arrogance.
Jimmy sees himself as something of a lower class hero. He strives to prove that you don’t need a family with money or connections to be able to forge a happy and comfortable life for yourself. Though, he does accept it is easier to do so with such a family.

CHARACTER HISTORY

Early Years: Jimmy grew up at a small farm near the rural village of Emyvale, County Monaghan, Ireland. His parents were strongly opposed to all things that didn’t involve copious amounts of manual labour. Even school was considered a needless distraction in their eyes. It would come as no surprise that Jimmy’s parents showed little remorse or sympathy when Jimmy frequently returned home from school in tears due to his classmates’, almost never ending, bullying of him.
Jimmy never truly knew of his magical ability until the letter from Hogwarts arrived. There had been strange occurrences around him which could never be explained by him (and which only drew further hate from his classmates). Upon receiving the letter, Jimmy sought to prove it right by concentrating his energy into making his father’s pen shoot out from his hand. Jimmy managed to do so, however, this led to his family disowning him. Though they did ensure he reached Hogwarts okay, but after that, they wanted nothing more to do with what they saw as a freak that was once their son.
Hogwarts Years: Jimmy is currently nearing the end of his sixth year at Hogwarts and is eagerly looking forward to the coming year and all it entails. Despite making few, if any, friends, Jimmy has settled fairly well into life at Hogwarts. His need to learn new things and further his abilities has far outweighed his need to be in the company of other people.
He tends to spend the summer months alone, practising either his magic or his music, or simply getting his nose stuck into a good book.

PURPOSE OF CHARACTER: To act as sort of getting my foot in through the door of role playing in the Harry Potter universe. I also see it as an opportunity to test myself against what I personally see as a role playing standard that far exceeds my own and what I am used to.
RP SAMPLE: It was an icy cold and stormy November evening when Steven approached the derelict ruins he used to call home. Clutching a black bag in one hand and tugging his coat around him with the other, Steven briskly walked up the moss-covered, and in places, broken, path until he reached the front door. Taking a deep breath, he firmly pushed the door, with its peeling paint and creaky hinges, open. Taking one last look around behind him to ensure he wasn’t followed, Steven stepped inside.
What awaited him was a potent blend of nostalgia and time-ravaged disarray. Hastily brushing off the sudden lump in his throat, Steven strode into the kitchen. Once there, he scanned the floor for a certain tile that was marked with a discreet “x” on the corner in black paint. Upon finding it, Steven carefully removed the tile from its position and peered into the gap created. Smiling at its contents, he dropped the bag into the hole. Upon landing, the bag’s contents bounced around with the all too distinct sound of metal. Steven couldn’t help but grin as he gazed at the many identical bags that shared the same space as his latest acquisition.
A sudden clap of thunder jolted Steven out of his short day dream and he scurried into the living room where he laid his weary self onto the worn out couch. Doing his best to tune out the ongoing storm, Steven drifted off to sleep, somewhat comforted by the fact that he hasn’t yet been caught.
