Lunch alone (Open)

Catalina walked in the small food bistro, and quickly ordered a turkey sandwich on white bread, along with french fries and a water. She was starving, as she had just gotten done with her run. Still wearing her running shorts and only a sports bra, she covered up with a pink zip up hoodie, zipping it up half way.

Sitting down, she quickly took a bite of her sandwich, sighing in delight. She took a drink of her water, she looked around the place. Not recognizing anybody, she sighed. Seeing someone sit in front of her, she looked at the person curiously.

Cliff stumbled into Sparks. Ah. Now this was embarrassing. The boy was wearing his favorite shirt- a tight, realistic looking spider man shirt, as well as some dark blue jeans. He had just been messing with the Slytherins. Cliff was supposed to be doing some shopping for his mum, but his lack of focus turned the past hour into a reenactment of some of his favorite comic books. And in his frenzy, Cliff might have shot a web from his wand around two Seventh year boys and their girlfriends.

Thus began the chase.

He spotted Sparks and knew the boys wouldn't pick a fight in there. He dodged inside and tripped into the nearest table, plopping at the seat. "No one beats Cliff!" he sneered at the windows, turning. He froze as he realized he had just taken a seat with a girl his age. He remembered her from class. In an awkward, strained voice, he squeaked, "Hi Catalina."

Catalina stifled a giggle as she recognized who was sitting in front of her. Seeing some boys looking rather angry, and seeing Cliff's strange outfit, it seemed to click. Staring at him, she raised a brow at his loud outburst. She continued staring at him until he said something. "Hey, Cliff, what's that about?" Catalina asked conversationally munching on a fry. She sipped her water, waiting for an answer.

Watching the boys stare into the window at the pair, Catalina waved at them and blew a kiss. "God, you sure did piss them off." She shook her head in amusement, smiling at him.

At least she was not upset with him. He chuckled nervously, trying to discreetly sink down low into his seat. "Heh, something to do with spiderwebs in their girlfriend's hair and about being a stupid Gryffindor or... or something like that." He rubbed the back of his neck and sat up, turning around to peer out the window. He was greeted by two angry middle fingers. He whipped back around.

She observed that they were pretty angry and he nodded. "Tell me about it." He shook his head, trying to pass off his terror. "They can't handle the heat," he said, puffing up his chest. He suddenly heard an angry "HEY!" and he let out a short little shriek, turning around. It was a waiter, glaring. Cliff waved awkwardly.

Catalina laughed, it was an interesting predicament her fellow Gryffindor was in. "They deserved it, don't worry. Stupid prejudice Slytherins, I tell ya." Shaking her head, she took another fry, pushing her plate to Cliff. Seeing the boys flip the two off, she returned the favor by doing it as well.

Catalina laughed once again at Cliff's bought of confidence, and was in tears when he shrunk from the waiter. "He's with me, get off it." Catalina waved him off and stared at the cowering Cliff.

He turned back from the boys to see another middle finger. HE briefly misread the situation, standing up and putting his hands out. "Whoa, Cat, now I didn't do anyth- Oh." He slowly sat down, refusing to acknowledge his mistake at first, slowly reaching out for a fry. He munched on it for a few moments and then looked up. "That was to them, huh?"

Ah, fries tasted much better than failure.

Fortunately, Cat saved him from the mean waiter too and he said, "Thank you so much Cat. I'll buy your lunch, alright? I owe you something."

"Of course. It seemed like they needed to see that I wasn't going to take their crap. It was getting boring, all the threats. They weren't going to do anything." Cat sighed, drinking her water and watching the boys leave. Of course, she'll probably get hell when school starts, but she would deal with them the same way she did then - getting annoyed and flipping them off.

"You don't owe me anything. Consider this a friend helping a friend." Cat clarified with a smile. "Honestly, it's no trouble."

Cliff nodded and said absently, "Yeah..." In all honesty, that was how far the thought of the Slytherins extended for him. Until he realized she was treating them as villains. As though delivering a thoughtful addition, he said, "They're like... our arch enemies. And if WE don't provide justice, innocent bystanders will feel their wrath." He shook his head. "That is so badass."

He grinned and then said, "Nope! I insist! A gentleman always serves the lady! It's a done deal!... But can I have some more fries?"

Cat laughed at his theory. It seemed boyish, but she knew he was in the same year as her, they just hadn't talked much since their younger days. "That seems like a comic book plot." She teased with a wink, nodding toward his attire. "But yes, definitely badass. We can be the superheros of Gryffindor house or something." Cat really had no idea what that ment, but hey, she said it.

Cat rolled her eyes and nodded, grinning."Such a gentlemanly thing to do, ask his lady for fries. But go ahead, take anything you want. I'm stuffed." She put her hands up to show she had nothing more to do with it.

She said it was like a comic book plot and he misinterpreted her, thinking she had one in mind. "You read comic books?" he asked excited. Her next words excited her more. He placed his palms flat on the table and leaned forward. "You mean it? Like with costumes and justice and bad guys and punching and the weapons and chases and good and evil and betrayal and costumes?!" He sucked in a breath. "Cat, you are the coolest person I have ever met!"

And he hadn't allowed her a chance to argue.

He grinned when she teased him for his slip up but offered the rest of the fries. "For real?" He pulled the plate towards himself and began devouring them. "Really, Cat. The coolest."
