The Battle No One Planned Empty The Battle No One Planned

Post by Henri Finch Mon Aug 05, 2013 3:05 am

Henri was mad.

Why? To put it simply - she was a teenager. Was that not enough reason for her to feel angry at the world?

She had kicked in every window in the Shrieking Shack without a single qualm to her name, and was now inside performing underage magic in the shack, as who would care when there were so many magical homes about? Blowing up arm chairs, cracking mirrors, splitting floorboards.

She was in the mood to destroy, so she would destroy. Her first year at Hogwarts and she barely had a reputation to a name. When she went back, she wanted to be known as the phantom of the Shrieking Shack, the one who tore the place apart with her bare hands. So that was what she began to do.

Couldn't there be peace for just one day for her?

Of course there couldn't. She hadn't been in Hogsmeade for more than an hour when she overheard some kids talking. They were saying something about noises coming from the Shack, like things were blowing up or something.

Obviously, being the type of person she was and with all the time she spent in the Shrieking Shack, Hitame went to check what was going on. Though it was creepy and weird, and anything but safe, Hitame adored the place she didn't want anyone messing with it.

She arrived to shattered windows and she could hear the noises coming from inside. Her eyes narrowed and she grew angry at whatever was going on.

Going in through one of the broken windows, the girl quickly found herself staring at Henri Finch, who was destroying pretty much everything in the Shack. That wouldn't do.

At all.

"What do you think you're doing?!" she exclaimed, glaring at the girl. Her hand reached back into her pocket for her wand, ready to pull it out if needed. Which she expected it would.

Henri heard a voice. She whipped around, her wand already at the ready. Good - a play thing.

Even better, a play thing her age. The way the girl looked at her told Henri that the other girl, a Gryffindor, had not the faintest of who she was. The Gryffindor didn't recognize Henri.

And boy - for a girl in the midst of an identity crisis, this was enough of a blow. But add the trouble-making spirit and the ego that Henri had, and it was the recipe for war.

"I'm doing whatever the hell I want!" Henri said. Yes. She would go into her next year as the unstable girl. The girl who was sort of insane. The psychopath. That was the sort of reputation she would love to covet.

If they even let her back into Hogwarts. Sure, getting banned from attending wasn't the ideal expulsion she had hoped for, but this could work.

So she pointed her wand at the girl and yelled, "Diffindo!"

She was angry, about what Hitame didn't know. Nor did she care really. All she cared about was keeping the shack safe.

The spell caught her off guard. She hadn't had enough time to pull her wand out and defend herself. She tried to move out of the way, nevertheless and while she moved enough to keep herself from being injured too badly, the spell hit her.

Damn. She was pushed back as the spell created a gash on her right arm. She let out a pained yelp but didn't back down. This was more than protecting the shack now, it was a challenge to her. One she wasn't going to back down from.

With her wand pointed at the girl, and shouted, "Expulso!"

Henri threw her arms out as though she was accepting the carnage the spell threw at her. It landed at her feet and wood and splinters flew up into her face, tearing her cheek and lip, a large splinter landing in her eyebrow, piercing the skin. Not that it hurt much - she had pierced every part of her body on her own, a splinter she could handle.

Her hands arms were covered in ash and blood droplets from the shrapnel, but she nevertheless raised them. Time to up the stakes, she thought. "Expelliarmus! Sectumsempra!"

- - -

Expelliarmus - the disarming spell. Can be as simple as to send a wand flying from the victim's hand, or can knock them over.

Sectumsempra - a dark spell that creates heavy gashes. A full gash can be deadly, but one can survive a partial gash but risks blood loss.

The Battle No One Planned Empty Re: The Battle No One Planned

Adrienne wasn't often in Hogsmeade, but she had promised to show Wyatt what the Wizarding World had in the way of candy. That said, she was walking down the main street of the village when she heard crashes and saw the tale-tell lights that came from wands when given a spell to fire. She couldn't explain her instincts, but they were yelling for her to run and help whomever was caught in the battle. All she truly knew was that if someone was in trouble, she was one of the most advanced in healing spells in her year - she wouldn't dare claim to be the best, but she did know some highly effective ones.

Taking off without a care if anyone saw her running, she ran down the path that students' feet had dug over the years, and opened the door to yelling and crashing. Looking up the stairs, she began climbing, as quietly as she could.

- - -

Trisha hadn't spent much time in the Wizarding World lately, except when she went down to Diagon Alley the other day, and later went to Nathan's house to watch a match. Spending time with people like her made her feel a bit better, of course, so she had decided to investigate Hogsmeade for the day. She had just left the joke shop - something she wasn't particularly inclined to be in anyways - when she saw a girl she was nearly certain was from her house suddenly bolt down the road. What in the world?

Looking in the direction the girl was heading, she understood. Something was wrong in the Shrieking Shack. Tris, usually afraid to advance in cases like this, wasn't about to let this girl run into a fight alone. Luckily, she was used to sports and had quite the athletic talent, so running to catch up wasn't a problem. She passed through the entry way just as the other girl started up the stairs.

Seeing her up close, it was easy to recognize her. Adrienne, a few years ahead, and a Ravenclaw like herself. "Adrienne, wait." She said, faintly out of breath.

"Together?" Addie asked, not even questioning the other girl's appearance. She must have recognized Tris in return. Nodding, Trisha walked with her up the stairs.

Another round of spells was fired and Tris flinched, glancing at Addie. She had never seen the elder Ravenclaw so determined.

Wait. One of those voices belonged to someone in Trisha's year. Hitamé. She couldn't let a friend be hurt, there would be none of that. Rushing up the stairs, Tris leaned around the doorframe to see who it was, Addie close behind.

Adrienne knew immediately who that was. Henri, who had been so mean to Erika Dixon, her roommate. Glaring at them, Addie led Tris as they burst into the room, wands at the ready.

She was expecting something big to happen now. This girl seemed like she wanted to destroy everything and Hitame was starting to think she had just gone psycho. But still, she was not going to let her just destroy the shack.

The first spell she sent knocked her back, causing her wand to fly out of her hand and rolled onto the floor near her. She was slammed into the wall behind her and she struggled to her feet thanks to the first wound she'd gotten. However, she was able to avoid the second spell that was sent at her, thanks to the first one.

Okay, now she was mad. She grabbed her wand and shouted, "Flipendo!" She didn't even noticed the new arrivals in the room.

Henri let out a rebel yell as Hitame was upended, though it unfortunately meant that her second spell missed. She opened her mouth and yelled, "Too much for you?!"

The last word was stretched out as she attempted to jump over a spell, but it brushed against her foot, flipping her and making her land heavily onto the floor, stomach first. She hit and pushed herself up in a military style push up, noticing the appearance of two new people. Oh no. They would see her in this weakened position. She felt panic grip her throat and she flung her wand arm out and pointed at the younger of the girls.

"Bombarda Maxima!"

Once Henri's attention had been drawn by something else, Hitame finally realized there was someone else in the room. Two other people. And Henri was attacking them. They were close to her though, that was good. This has to work.

Just before the spell would reach them, Hitame shouted, "Finite Incantatem!"

Now she was even angrier than she had been. She wasn't going to let her hurt the others. Especially not Tris, who she recognized shortly after the spell had been sent.

"Flipendo Duo!" she yelled, her wand pointed at Henri.

Adrienne would have none of that. Whatever could this other girl have done to make Henri so mad? Honestly, the other Ravenclaw had quite a reputation, but was it so important to keep up appearances? It just didn't make sense. Glancing at - what was her name? Most people called her Spirit Girl, though that wasn't exactly a proper name to call her.. - the younger Ravenclaw (for she decided it was a better name to call anyone) she nodded as if suggesting they join in to help the girl who had just been thrown against a wall.

Trisha stepped in front of Hit after she cast her spell, hoping to be able to deflect attention while Adrienne helped Trisha's friend. Tris knew that Addie was rumored to be quite good at helping others, even in the form of healing.

"Hey," Adrienne said to the other girl as Tris moved to block the way, "Just breathe." She lifted her wand and held it before the younger girl, hoping she understood that they were on her side.

"Protego!" Tris began, pushing away the spells that had been cast in their direction as Addie cast her own spell.

"Vulnera Sanentur." She murmured, watching the injuries Hit had been given start to cover. Trisha knew she wouldn't necessarily be able to hold off the attacker, so she hoped things went right with Hitamé.
