Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Khaat walked through St. Mungo's, a pad of paper with a magical quill taking notes for her as she went. It was a dismal, miserable place indeed. She wanted better for the wizarding world that needed to come here. From the reception area up to the uppermost floors.

She reassured the staff about her lack of intention to change anyone, at this point, without more study. Once she had taken the tour, she began a magical transformation. Instead of the old worn out furniture and dirty, dismal walls, she had the rooms changed. She chose light and airy colors for the walls, inlaid hardwood floors throughout and bright pleasant lighting fixtures. She replaced the uncomfortable wood furniture with durable, comfortable leather seating, and she chose a variety of styles of art throughout so that it was clear that St. Mungos was trying to inspire peace and hope and life. She summoned in living, blooming plants, and had the old dismal portraits of past staff moved to a special gallery of remembrance where reverential, stained glassl lighting and soft music lit the room. She placed overstuffed comfortable furniture there so that it would be a quiet place for peaceful meditationand reflection.

She used enchantments to change the wards to private rooms, so that the interior was actually larger than the outside of the buildng looked, and she made sure that each room was tastefully decorated.

Once she had made every decorating change she could think of to change the atmosphere, she made sure it had an efficiently organized and stocked kitchen and laundry and apothecary. She addressed every office as well as she could think of, using as many staff suggestions as she could gather.

While everyone seemed, to Khaat, to be busy marveling at the countless improvements, she set about improving the security inside the building. She took her job seriously and did not want any medical record or any information leaking from St. Mungos without it requiring many checks and safeguards. There were already, she found, enchantments to keep records from being forged or fabricated, but the enchantments to protect them were old and feeble. She spent hours making a series of magical enchantments and locks that made it not only almost impossible but clearly not worth the effort or the risk to try to obtain any record from the hospital without Khaat's exclusive authorization.

Her last effort was her own space. An out of the way office on the top floor. She decorated it in traditional dark woods, with red and gold tapestry drapes, classically tasteful comfortable furniture and lighting. It was her own escape from the madness that the world sometimes offered. Her hope was to try to turn around some of the dread that the wizarding world associated with St Mungos and to try to increase its respectability and its effectiveness. It seemed to her that as dark as the world was becoming, every light of hope needed to do its best to shine brightly.
